The series begins with the piece Lack, from which the entire cycle is derived.
In this work, techniques of material processing are transferred to a compositional concept. Across fifteen sections of equal length, musical material is shaped and gradually smoothed until a single, stationary tone remains. The live electronics follow this process, complementing the instrumental gestures without overshadowing them. Additionally, the repeated recording and playback of selected musical passages further amplifies this development, reflecting the increasing degree of refinement.
In the following versions, the live electronics are translated into new instrumental voices and, at the same time, these are reprocessed by the live electronics.
This results in an increasing number of instruments as well as channels for electronic processing.
